At Brown our coaching staff strives to make our
players successful both on and off the court;
chasing excellence, not just wins!
The first girls basketball season under new Head Coach Stacy Pendleton here at the Brown School was a very exciting one. The girls won 15 games and had a winning record (15-12)! Anytime there is a coaching change, at any level, there's a period of adjustment that both players and coaches must go through. The young ladies and coaching staff here at Brown were up to the challenge and we're all very proud of the effort they put into making the 2016-2017 season such a great year.
As we go into this new season we will continue to work hard on making girl's basketball here at Brown a program that others emulate and we will strive to improve at every aspect of the game. The girls and staff have set some high goals for this upcoming season and we're certain they are up to the task.
I appreciate everyone's support and GO LADY BEARS!!!

Stacy Pendleton - Varsity Head Coach
Stacy, Coach P, has coached Girls Varsity Basketball for 18 years (15 as a head coach). Before coming to Brown he coached at Jeffersontown, South Oldham and duPont Manual. Over his 9 year tenure at Manual his teams complied a 230-62 record, a winning percentage of 79%. His Manual team was the 2012 KHSSA State Champions and finished ranked 8th in the nation. He coached the KY All Star team to two wins over Indiana (2012) and has coached multiple Division 1 athletes.
Coach P. retired from coaching at the end of 2013 to spend more time with his family; wife Donna and daughters Marlaina (11) and Makenna (8). He began teaching at the Brown School in the fall of 2014. The coaching fire was rekindled and we're glad Stacy has decided to lead the Lady Bears and build a legacy here at The Brown School! Stacy says, "Trophies and coaching awards gather dust and get forgotten, but a coach who helps a young person in life leaves a lasting legacy."
Lauren Bodine - Varsity Assistant Coach
Lauren joins the girls coaching staff at Brown after a successful high school and D1 college career. Basketball is her passion, She has been playing for as long as she can remember. She played in high school at duPont Manual under Coach Pendleton, where she was a starting member of the 2012 KY State High School Sweet Sixteen Championship. She then went on to play D1 basketball at the University of Maine for 4 years. In 2016 she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Lauren is now enrolled in the Accelerated Nursing Program at Spalding University.
She is excited and thankful to be apart of this team. She will never give up basketball.
Josh Luttrell - Middle School Head Coach

Mastering skills in baseball, soccer and basketball in high school, he found his love for coaching in 2006 where he coached the Elementary and Middle school girls and boys basketball teams at Portland Christian. In 2009, he became the Boys Varsity Assistant coach at Portland Christian until his departure in 2013.
He is currently married to his high school sweetheart of 17 years, Ryanne. The two of them share three beautiful children; Jordyn, 10, Adyson, 7 and Jaxon 3.
